El propietario, Jaume Cat\u00e0, construy\u00f3 este espacio destinado a la obtenci\u00f3n de destilados y a la elaboraci\u00f3n de licores.<\/p>\n\n<p>Las destiler\u00edas, tambi\u00e9n conocidas con el nombre de F\u00e1brica de Vapor Pepita, son una obra de planta rectangular con una fachada de una originalidad remarcable. Destaca la composici\u00f3n sim\u00e9trica a lo largo de la pared. A nivel de tierra, la estructuraci\u00f3n es singular: varias puertas en arco se intercalan con el z\u00f3calo, que tiene preeminencia en la cerradura de pared central.<\/p>\n\n<p>En el interior destaca la gran sala de los toneles, con estucados a fuego en las paredes. Tambi\u00e9n se conserva el antiguo alambique de destilaci\u00f3n y una m\u00e1quina de vapor vertical, de marca Alexandre.<\/p>\n\n<p>Destiler\u00edas Gerunda dej\u00f3 de producir licores en 2009. La compa\u00f1\u00eda Bardinet adquiri\u00f3 el negocio de producci\u00f3n de licor y lo traslad\u00f3 a su planta de Gelida.
